The mill and the
site are in safe hands!
A steering committee appointed by the Southern Midlands Council that
will represent the site owners (the Tasmanian Government), the
lessee (the Southern Midlands Council) and the community
This committee will manage the appointment of the Mill’s commercial
operator and ensure the balance of commercial, site management and
community use issues is achieved
The “Friends of the Mill”, a group with a mix of local and
international membership, will have a significant role in ensuring
visitors experience the full potential of their visit and in
marketing activities and events
