       Welcome to the Callington Mill

Foreword from Tony Bisdee, Mayor of Southern Midlands Council.

 It is with my greatest pleasure that I welcome you to the Callington Mill Website. 

After decades of effort by our community and successive Councils we are now on the final stage of the journey in restoring the Callington Mill to a working windmill.

This will be the only authentic, operable Lincolnshire Mill in the Southern Hemisphere and will become the catalyst for further development within Oatlands and the Midlands of Tasmania.

The restoration has been made possible by the efforts of our community and financial contributions from the Australian and Tasmanian Government and Southern Midlands Council.

This website will be used to provide you with information that helps you keep up to date with progress on restoration and all of the other work going on to ensure that we achieve the highest level of community benefit possible from the investment.
